Abstract
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Conventional pharmacological treatments often manage symptoms but rarely address the underlying psychophysiological imbalance or long-term self-regulation deficits. This study evaluated the efficacy of Digital Yoga Therapy (DYT)—an AI-assisted, biofeedback-integrated intervention that synthesizes Ayurvedic balance, Vedantic awareness, and Yogic ethics—for improving cognitive, behavioral, and physiological outcomes in children with ADHD. A total of forty-two participants aged 7 to 12 years were randomly assigned to the DYT intervention (n = 21) or control group (n = 21) for eight weeks. The DYT program combined guided asanas, pranayama, and mindfulness meditation with real-time heart rate variability (HRV) and EEG feedback. Standardized instruments including the Conners Continuous Performance Test (CPT-3), Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), HRV, and EEG theta–beta ratios were administered before and after intervention. Statistical analyses indicated significant improvements in sustained attention (t(20) = 4.92, p < .001, d = 0.91, 95% CI [0.52, 1.26]), HRV (t(20) = 3.89, p = .001, d = 0.83, 95% CI [0.47, 1.19]), and hyperactivity reduction (t(20) = 2.74, p = .012, d = 0.78, 95% CI [0.32, 1.16]). Between-group ANCOVA confirmed robust effects for attention (F(1,40) = 18.42, p < .001, η² = .32) and HRV (F(1,40) = 14.36, p = .001, η² = .27). The findings affirm that Digital Yoga Therapy significantly enhances attention, emotional control, and autonomic regulation, establishing it as a scientifically rigorous and culturally attuned digital therapeutic model for ADHD management.
